New Snake…
Got super lucky this week and traded my 3 Western Diamondback Rattlers for a Temple (Waglers) Viper, Tropidolaemus wagleri! I’ve wanted one of these for years and I’m so incredibly stoked I have one. It’s a neonate at the moment, which is good because I get to watch it grow and go through it’s color phases. It is venomous of course but not lethal to humans. It’s an arboreal tree viper so it just hangs out on small branches all day and waits for me to water him since they don’t like drinking from water bowls. I use a squirt bottle to deliver the water right to his mouth. I’ll try and get a video of that soon. It’s pretty amazing. Also an extremely docile species, fun to work with. Though I still use hooks. I don’t freehand venomous snakes. (The pictures suck because it’s from my cell phone).
I also added a Broadbanded Copperhead (Agkistrodon contortrix laticinctus) to my collection this week as well. He’s a sub-adult male. Pretty fun to watch, but I’m more into tree vipers really. Thanks again Donovan for hooking me up with this one. Next I’m after Eyelash Vipers (Bothriechis schlegelii) and Hairy Bush Vipers (Atheris hispida) haha…I said hairy bush…
So life keeps throwing curve balls as it always does. Not sure if I should swing this time or not? If I do I’ll swing extremely hard and fierce. But what can you do? If it’s not one thing it’s another. “Buy the ticket, take the ride” – Hunter S. Thompson
The shop is doing great. We just ordered an amazing sign for the front. This sign is not only nicer and more high end than any other shop in town, but more so than almost every other business in town. It won’t be in until right after January, but your gonna trip out when you see it. Thanks to J.R. Cooke and Emily for the photo shoot in our shop, and her amazing face being on the sign. J.R. is amazing, hit him up if you need a talented photographer.
That’s about all I have to say at the moment. Enjoy the few crap cellphone pics of my new snake below.
